Toddler Samurai: Motor Fitness & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Ages 2.5-5)

A Fun, Safe, and Nurturing Start to a Healthy Life

Toddler Martial Arts in Alameda, CA

Structure. Discipline. Focus. Taught the right way.

Mom, let’s be honest for a second.

If you’re reading this, it’s probably because your toddler:

  • Doesn’t listen the first (or fifth) time

  • Has big emotions and no brakes

  • Struggles to focus, wait, or follow directions

  • Is smart, energetic… and exhausting

You’re not failing.
Your child isn’t “bad.”

They just don’t have enough structure yet.

Toddlers don’t grow discipline by accident.

They learn it through:

  • Repetition

  • Clear boundaries

  • Movement

  • Consistent guidance

Not yelling.
Not time-outs on repeat.
Not hoping they’ll “grow out of it.”

This is where we come in.

At Alameda Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, toddler martial arts is not about fighting.
It’s about teaching life skills early, when the brain is ready to absorb them.

We teach toddlers how to:

  • Focus

  • Listen

  • Follow directions

  • Interact with others

  • Use their words

  • Regulate their bodies and emotions

All through guided play, movement, and structure.

Why our program is different (and why parents notice fast)

Professor Sérgio Silva has been teaching toddlers and preschool-age children since 1992.

He also spent two years volunteering as a Motor Fitness assistant parent, helping his own children through kindergarten right here in the school system. He studied the full curriculum, saw what worked, what didn’t — and made it better.

Today, he uses a custom curriculum built from experience, not theory.

  • Over 150 structured games and activities

  • Designed to be fun, engaging, and purposeful

  • Mixing play, discipline, and movement

  • Teaching listening skills without pressure

Your child is moving, smiling, learning — and following directions without even realizing it.

That’s real discipline.

We don’t replace parents. We support them.

Parents are always encouraged to observe and participate when needed.

Why?
Because consistency matters.

What your child learns here can be reinforced at home — calmly, confidently, without power struggles.

This isn’t daycare.
This is early discipline taught with respect.

What parents usually tell us

  • “My child listens better at home.”

  • “Transitions are easier.”

  • “They’re calmer.”

  • “They’re more confident.”

And yes — they still have energy.
They just know how to manage it better.
